A branded vehicle generates impressions every minute it is on the road. At Dubai traffic density, a typical commercial vehicle covers enough routes daily to match the reach of significant digital advertising spend, and unlike digital advertising the cost is largely upfront rather than ongoing. This page covers every vehicle branding format we produce and install, the vinyl grades and installation techniques behind them, UAE specific considerations including RTA approvals on windshield graphics, and how to plan fleet branding programmes that stay consistent as vehicles rotate in and out of service.

Car Wrapping Options

Full Car Wraps

A full car wrap covers every painted body panel of the vehicle with printed vinyl, effectively changing the entire exterior appearance. Full wraps deliver the most dramatic brand or colour transformation and typically use cast automotive vinyl films that conform to complex body contours. Standard full wrap specification uses calendered or cast vinyl at 80 to 100 microns with UV laminate, producing a wrap that lasts three to five years in UAE conditions before visible degradation. Full wraps suit high visibility brand vehicles, luxury car colour changes, owner branding, and flagship fleet vehicles where the wrap is the primary brand expression. Review our Car Wrapping page for full wrap specifications and artwork preparation.

Partial Wraps

Partial wraps cover specific panels or a percentage of the vehicle rather than the entire body. Common partial wrap configurations include side body panels only, rear quarter and boot, roof and bonnet, and half wrap covering the lower body section. Partial wraps reduce material and installation cost significantly compared to full wraps while still delivering branded visual impact. For fleet programmes rolling out many vehicles on constrained budget, partial wraps with strong graphic design often outperform full wraps on cost per impression. Partial wrap vinyl specification uses the same automotive grade films as full wraps for consistent colour and durability.

Chrome and Metallic Wraps

Chrome wraps produce a mirror finish that paint cannot match, turning vehicles into moving reflective surfaces that catch attention in every traffic light stop. Metallic wraps deliver rich saturated colours with micro metallic flake giving depth and reflection under sunlight. Both chrome and metallic films require skilled installation because their optical properties reveal any installation flaws that matte colours would hide. We install chrome wraps in classic silver, gold, copper, rose gold, red, blue, black, and custom shades.

Colour Change Wraps

Colour change wraps transform a vehicle from its original colour to a new one without the permanence of repainting. Popular among luxury car owners who rotate colours seasonally, colour change allows a matte black Range Rover one quarter and satin pearl white the next, all reversibly. Colour change vinyl is premium specification; the installation requires precise fit and finish because the viewer is comparing the wrap to what they would expect from factory paint. Matte, satin, gloss, and textured finishes cover the range of factory paint equivalents plus finishes that paint cannot deliver.

Matte Finish and Satin Wraps

Matte vinyl delivers a non reflective finish that reads as distinctly modern and premium, popular on luxury sedans, sports cars, and SUVs where the matte texture differentiates the vehicle visually. Satin sits between matte and gloss, offering reduced reflectivity while maintaining some lustre. Both require owner awareness of maintenance differences; matte and satin cannot be waxed and show water spotting more visibly than gloss, so the owner needs to accept the aesthetic trade off for the visual distinction.

Commercial Fleet Branding

Van and Light Commercial Vehicle Wraps

Vans and light commercial vehicles form the backbone of UAE fleet branding. Delivery services, trade services, mobile maintenance, home services, and logistics operations all run van fleets that become rolling billboards when branded. Standard van wrap specifications cover the side panels, rear doors, bonnet, and optionally the roof for visibility from elevated observation points. The contact information (phone, website, service hours) on a van wrap is typically the most actively read element; sizing and placement of contact details matters more than the hero brand imagery for driving inbound leads from the vehicle.

Truck and HGV Branding

Heavy goods vehicles and trucks carry larger surface areas than cars or vans, which affects both the branding opportunity and the installation complexity. Truck body panels are often ridged rather than smooth, requiring vinyl grades that conform to corrugated surfaces without lifting at the ridges. Tipper bodies, refrigerated trailers, and curtain sided trailers each have specific installation considerations. For logistics companies running trucks across GCC routes, vehicle branding extends reach into Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, and beyond with no incremental media spend.

Delivery and Courier Vehicle Branding

Last mile delivery branding faces specific design constraints. Driver visibility through windows must not be compromised; branded window graphics must use one way vision perforated material that allows driver visibility outward while showing branding from outside. Emergency access markings and operational decals must not be obscured. Delivery fleet branding often extends beyond vehicle wraps to include branded uniforms, branded boxes, and branded delivery experience that creates consistency between vehicle, person, and package.

Bus, Coach, and Mass Transit Wraps

Bus and coach wraps deliver the highest impressions per vehicle of any commercial branding format. A single RTA bus on a Dubai city route generates millions of visual impressions monthly. Bus wrap specifications must consider window placement (one way vision on glass), door operation clearance, and RTA compliance for any public transit route vehicles. Coach wraps for tourism operators follow similar principles but with more latitude for creative design since the vehicles serve leisure rather than public transit routes. Full bus wraps, half bus wraps, and rear bus advertising formats each have distinct production and installation workflows.

Taxi and Rideshare Wraps

Dubai Taxi, RTA regulated taxi fleets, and rideshare (Careem and Uber) advertising programmes have specific formats and regulatory approvals required. Rooftop taxi toppers and side panel advertising follow programmes managed by advertising licensees partnered with the taxi operators. Full taxi wraps for rideshare owner operators have fewer restrictions but still require RTA approval for windshield elements and driver side visibility. We work with operators and drivers on both the production and the regulatory submission for compliant deployment.

Window Graphics and Glass Applications

One Way Vision Window Graphics

One way vision material is a perforated vinyl that allows people inside the vehicle to see out while displaying the printed design to people outside. This material makes full window branding possible without compromising driver visibility, regulatory compliance, or passenger comfort. One way vision is the default specification for commercial vehicle rear windows, bus side windows, coach panel windows, and van rear doors. The perforation ratio typically runs 50 percent perforation to 50 percent vinyl, balancing outward visibility with inward print visibility.

Windshield Stickers and Dashboard Branding

UAE RTA regulations limit windshield sticker placement strictly. Permitted windshield stickers include RTA approved taxi topper identifiers, emergency service markings, vehicle registration decals, and a limited set of approved commercial stickers with prior RTA approval. Most brand advertising on windshields requires specific permits. Dashboard area branding (interior decorative elements visible through the windshield) has fewer restrictions but can affect vehicle insurance and registration compliance. See our Windshield Stickers page for compliant placement options.

Rear Window Graphics

Rear window graphics run on one way vision material or solid vinyl depending on the vehicle type. Commercial van rear doors typically take solid vinyl because the rear door windows are functional signalling only. Passenger vehicle rear windows typically take one way vision to preserve rearward visibility. Rear window graphics often carry the primary contact details on fleet vehicles because the vehicle behind in traffic has extended reading time compared to vehicles passing on the side. Review Window Stickers.

Vinyl Lettering and Decal Work

Pre Spaced Vinyl Decals and Cut Vinyl Lettering

Cut vinyl lettering uses solid colour vinyl cut into letters and graphics without a printed background, transferred onto the vehicle as clean colour elements on the paint. Cut vinyl works for simple text, logos in solid colours, and minimal branding where printed full colour would be excessive. Pre spaced vinyl decals come with the lettering pre positioned on a transfer tape, allowing clean installation with correct spacing without measuring each letter individually. See Pre Spaced Vinyl Decals.

Magnetic Car Signs

Magnetic signs attach to steel body panels via strong magnet backing without adhesive. They suit owner operator businesses who want branding during work hours and removal for personal driving, fleet vehicles shared across different business contexts, and temporary branding for events and promotions. Standard magnetic sign size is 300 by 600mm and fits most van and car door positions. Magnetic signs are not suitable for vehicles travelling at highway speeds for extended periods because wind buffet can dislodge them; for highway fleet use, vinyl application is the correct choice.

Reflective and High Visibility Decals

Emergency services, security firms, roadside assistance, construction vehicles, and school buses often require reflective graphics for visibility in low light and emergency conditions. Reflective vinyl incorporates glass beads or prismatic structures that return headlight illumination back to its source, making the vehicle visible at significant distances at night. UAE regulations on reflective markings vary by vehicle use case; school buses and emergency vehicles have mandatory reflective placements that must be specified and installed per requirements.

Specialty Vehicle Applications

Motorcycle and Scooter Graphics

Motorcycle branding covers tank graphics, fairing wraps, delivery box wraps for food delivery fleets, and helmet decoration. Motorcycle surfaces are more complex than car panels with tighter compound curves, which requires thinner conformable vinyl and more careful installation. Delivery fleet motorcycle branding for Talabat, Careem Now, Deliveroo style operators is a high volume segment with specific format requirements per operator. See our Car and Motorcycle Stickers. Helmet graphics require vinyl that handles the high curvature of the helmet shell; review Helmet Stickers.

Boat and Marine Vehicle Wrapping

Boat hull wrapping uses marine grade vinyl with enhanced UV protection and salt water resistance compared to automotive vinyl. Luxury yacht name decals, professional fishing boat graphics, charter boat branding, and personal watercraft graphics all fall into marine vinyl work. Installation is more complex than car wrapping because boat hulls often have compound curves, textured surfaces, and gel coat finishes that behave differently from automotive paint. Marine wrap lifespan in UAE coastal conditions is typically two to three years before visible weathering starts.

Floor Vinyl and Showroom Graphics

Floor vinyl creates branded paths through showrooms, retail stores, exhibition booths, and event venues. Typically installed as temporary event graphics or long term retail branding, floor vinyl uses specific adhesive formulations designed for foot traffic, cleaning products, and UAE climate conditions. The vinyl grade for floor installations differs from wall or vehicle vinyl because the wear profile is different. Review Floor Vinyl.

Paint Protection Film (PPF)

Paint protection film is a clear durable urethane or polyurethane film applied over vehicle paint to protect against stone chips, scratches, and environmental damage. PPF differs from vinyl wraps in purpose and material; vinyl wraps change the visual appearance while PPF preserves the underlying paint invisibly. Some premium car owners specify PPF on high impact areas (front bonnet, headlights, side mirrors) even without a full wrap. PPF installation is a specialised skill distinct from vinyl wrapping, and correct installation determines whether the film delivers the protective benefit over years or fails within months.

Vinyl Grades and Material Selection

Vehicle vinyl comes in different grades with meaningful performance differences. Specifying the correct grade for the vehicle type and expected service life prevents premature failure.

Calendered vinyl is the entry commercial grade, with lifespan of one to three years outdoor depending on climate exposure. Calendered vinyl works on flat or mildly curved surfaces such as trailer sides, bus panels, and van side panels. It does not conform to compound curves and should not be used on passenger car bodies where the vinyl must wrap around complex shapes.

Cast vinyl is the automotive grade used for car wraps and premium fleet vehicle applications. Cast vinyl is thinner, more conformable, and has longer outdoor life (three to seven years) because of the manufacturing process that produces dimensional stability. Cast vinyl costs more per square metre but is the only suitable material for passenger car wraps; attempting to save on material cost by using calendered vinyl on car bodies produces visible lifting at corners and compound curves within weeks.

Colour change cast vinyl is the premium tier used for matte, satin, chrome, and specialty finish full wraps. These films produce factory equivalent finish quality and carry the longest life (five to seven years) among common vehicle vinyl grades. Brands including 3M, Avery Dennison, Hexis, and KPMF dominate this segment; the specific film brand and series affects installation difficulty, available finish options, and manufacturer warranty coverage.

Laminate selection matters as much as the base vinyl. Over laminate films protect the printed vinyl from abrasion, chemical exposure (fuel, oil, wash chemicals), UV degradation, and physical damage. UAE climate punishes unlaminated printed vinyl within months; lamination is non negotiable for any UAE vehicle installation expecting service life beyond a season.

Installation Process

Vehicle wrap installation quality determines whether a wrap looks professional for years or shows problems immediately. Our installation process follows the discipline that consistently produces durable results.

Vehicle preparation starts with deep cleaning the paint. Wax, polish, silicone residue, dust, and contamination all prevent proper adhesive bonding. We wash the vehicle, dry thoroughly, and wipe panels with isopropyl alcohol before installation. Decontamination is more important on previously waxed vehicles where the silicone layer repels vinyl adhesive.

Surface assessment identifies paint condition issues before installation. Damaged paint, rust spots, or panels with known defects must be addressed before wrapping because vinyl over a compromised paint surface fails at the paint compromise point, not at the vinyl. Owner sign off on visible paint conditions protects against post installation disputes about paint damage.

Temperature and humidity affect installation quality. Most automotive vinyls specify installation temperature ranges, typically 10 to 30 degrees Celsius with moderate humidity. UAE summer temperatures often exceed the upper range; outdoor installation during June to September in the UAE is typically avoided in favour of climate controlled indoor installation bays.

Panel by panel installation follows a defined sequence that manages installation tension, corner wrap techniques, and overlap sequences. Each panel is installed individually, inspected, and finished before moving to the next. A full car wrap typically takes one to three working days depending on vehicle complexity and design.

Post installation cure time allows the adhesive to reach full bond strength. For the first 24 to 48 hours after installation, vinyl should not be washed, waxed, or subjected to pressure washing. This cure window is important for installation durability and a key reason rushed installations often show edge lifting within weeks.

RTA Regulations and Compliance

The UAE regulatory framework for vehicle modifications and branding operates through Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai and comparable authorities in other Emirates. Understanding compliance requirements prevents the expensive outcome of a fully installed wrap that fails vehicle inspection or test.

Full vehicle colour change requires notification to RTA and registration update to reflect the actual vehicle colour. Failure to update registration creates compliance issues at vehicle inspection, insurance claims, and police stops. We handle the colour change registration notification as part of our full wrap service for client vehicles.

Commercial vehicle branding on trucks, vans, and fleet vehicles generally does not require specific RTA approval, though certain industries (hazardous goods transport, refrigerated logistics, food transport) have sector specific labelling requirements that must be met alongside the commercial branding.

Taxi and public transit vehicle branding operates under specific programmes managed by RTA, Dubai Taxi, and related operators. Advertising on these vehicles typically operates through licensed advertising partnerships; direct driver or owner commissioned wraps on regulated vehicles may not be permitted.

Windshield and driver visibility zone restrictions apply to any sticker or decal that could impair driver vision. Specific RTA rules define acceptable sticker placement zones on windshields; any commercial branding in these zones generally requires explicit permit.

School buses have mandatory yellow paint colour, retroreflective markings, and specific branding restrictions. Any branded wraps or modifications on school transportation require compliance with Ministry of Education regulations in addition to RTA requirements.

Passenger Transport Regulation compliance for ride share and taxi operators operating with vehicle branding needs verification against current operator rules. Careem and Uber branding programmes for their driver partners follow specific operator guidelines.

Fleet Programme Management

Multi vehicle fleet programmes have different economics and operational considerations than single vehicle wraps.

Design consistency across a fleet is the foundation of fleet branding value. A fleet where five vehicles carry slightly different logo placements, fonts, or contact details reads as unbranded rather than branded. Design templates that apply identically regardless of vehicle type enforce the consistency.

Vehicle type variation within a fleet requires template adaptation. A logo designed for a van side panel does not translate directly to a car door panel or a truck body. Fleet design work includes translating the core brand expression to every vehicle type in the fleet while maintaining consistent recognition.

Rollout scheduling for fleet installations balances operational continuity against installation efficiency. Wrapping the full fleet in a single week maximises installation efficiency but removes too many vehicles from service. Staging installations across two to four weeks allows operations to continue while progressively refreshing the fleet.

Maintenance and refresh cycles for fleet vinyl typically run three to five years. Budget planning for fleet branding should include refresh cycles from the initial programme to avoid the situation of having a fleet with some vehicles on current brand and others on old brand because the refresh was never planned.

Vehicle rotation and replacement requires process for handling new vehicles entering the fleet and old vehicles leaving. New vehicles should be wrapped on arrival before entering service. Old vehicles being sold or returned need vinyl removal to avoid brand association with the secondary owner.

Industry Sector Applications

Different industry sectors use vehicle branding in distinct ways that shape the design brief, wrap scope, and fleet management approach. Knowing the sector patterns helps benchmark a programme against what works for peers.

Real estate brokerages in Dubai run branded vehicles as mobile office and property viewing transport. The brand presence matters at the viewing pickup because the car often sets the tone before the agent speaks. Full wraps with prominent brokerage branding and agent contact details are common; partial wraps with panel branding work for individual agents operating under a larger brokerage.

Construction and contracting companies use truck and van fleet branding as project site presence. Vehicles parked at construction hoarding or project access carry brand visibility across the full project duration. Commercial vehicle fleet wraps with company name, services offered, and contact details are standard specification.

Food delivery and hospitality vehicles face their own design considerations. Fleet branding needs to survive daily wash cycles, food grease exposure, and frequent stop start city driving. Restaurant delivery vehicles often include photography of key menu items to generate appetite association with the brand. Food truck branding is effectively mobile restaurant branding, requiring the same design discipline as a physical storefront.

Healthcare and medical vehicle branding (private ambulance, medical transport, home healthcare visit vehicles) requires compliance with regulated colour schemes and standard markings in addition to brand elements. The balance between regulatory compliance and brand presence needs careful design work.

Automotive industry vehicles (dealerships, service centres, parts distributors) carry brand presence as part of the sales message. A well branded dealership vehicle signals professionalism before any customer interaction starts. Dealership test drive vehicles often carry subtle branding rather than full wraps to maintain the vehicle appearance customers are evaluating.

Tourism and leisure vehicles (desert safari Land Cruisers, boat charter company transport vehicles, activity provider vans) benefit from expressive design work that signals the experience the company delivers. Tourism fleet branding often carries more creative latitude than commercial fleet branding because the vehicles themselves are part of the experience.
