Terry, velour, Turkish weave and microfibre with the gsm and cotton grade stated on every quote. Reactive printing, jacquard weaving and embroidery, built for commercial laundering rather than for a photograph.
WhatsApp Us Contact UsA beach towel is judged in about three seconds. Somebody picks it up, feels weight, and forms a view. Everything after that, the print, the branding, the packaging, is working either with or against that first impression, and it is almost entirely decided by two numbers that most quotes never mention.
This matters more in the UAE than in most markets, because beach towels here are not a seasonal item. Hotels and beach clubs cycle them through commercial laundries year round. Resorts lose them to guests continually. Corporate gifting programmes hand them out in volume. And the retail season never really closes.
Branding Blitz produces custom beach towels for hotels, beach clubs, resorts, gyms, spas, retail brands, corporate gifting programmes, schools and event organisers across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and the northern emirates. Runs go from a hundred piece for a boutique property to fifty thousand for a national campaign. This page explains constructions, the weights, the printing methods and the trade offs each one forces.
Beach towels run considerably larger than bath towels and the difference matters.
A standard beach towel is around 75 by 150 centimetres. That is enough to lie on for most adults and it is the size most retail lines use.
Oversized beach towels at 90 by 180 centimetres and above suit sun loungers, where the towel needs to cover whole surface. Hotels and beach clubs generally specify this size for exactly that reason, and guests notice when a towel does not cover lounger.
Round beach towels became a fashion item and remain popular for retail and social media driven brands. They are less practical and they photograph exceptionally well.
Compact travel sizes in Turkish weave or microfibre suit gym bags and travel retail.
For hotels, matching towel size to the lounger dimensions is worth doing rather than buying a standard size and hoping. It is a small specification detail that guests register immediately.
Beach towels work unusually well as corporate gifts in this market for an obvious reason: everybody uses one, frequently, and the climate guarantees it.
They are also large, which means branding can be substantial without looking like advertising. A woven border or a corner logo on a good quality towel read as a considered gift rather than a giveaway.
The consideration is cost. A decent beach towel cost considerably more than most promotional items, which puts it in the client gift and senior recognition bracket rather than the mass handout bracket. Specifying down to hit a mass giveaway price produce something thin that undermines gesture, and we would generally advise choosing a different product rather than a poor towel.
Packaging matters here. A towel presented rolled with a printed band, or folded in a fabric bag, reads completely differently from one handed over folded in a poly bag.
Retail specification is driven by shelf price and by how the product presents folded.
Folded presentation is what sells a towel in a shop. A well folded towel with a clear header card showing design opened out gives customer both the feel and the look. Towels merchandised only folded, with no indication of the full design, underperform.
Packaging needs barcoding, fibre composition, care instructions and dimensions. These are regulatory as much as commercial in several channels.
Multi packs and towel sets lift transaction value. Beach towel plus matching bag is a common and effective combination, and producing both together guarantees colours match.
Towels have a specific and slightly counterintuitive care requirement that is worth printing on the label.
Fabric softener is bad for towels. It coats fibres and reduces absorbency substantially, which is the opposite of what a towel is for. A towel that has stopped absorbing has usually been softened, not worn out.
Wash new towels before first use. Cotton carries a manufacturing finish that reduces absorbency until washed out.
Avoid over drying. Excessive heat damages cotton fibres and makes towels feel rough. Removing them slightly damp and finishing on a line produces a better result and extends life.
In this climate specifically, damp towels left folded in a bag develop mildew within a day. That is the most common way a beach towel is ruined here, and a line on the care label saves a lot of complaint.
Salt and chlorine both degrade cotton over time. Rinsing after beach or pool use makes a measurable difference to how long a towel lasts, which matters for resorts more than individuals.
Minimum order for custom beach towels depends heavily on the decoration method. Embroidered stock towels start around fifty pieces. Reactive printed custom designs start higher, around three hundred, because the print setup needs volume to justify it. Jacquard woven towels have the highest minimum, typically a thousand or more, because a loom setup is involved.
Cost is driven by gsm, cotton grade, size, decoration method, hem construction and quantity. The gap between a basic 350 gsm towel and a 500 gsm extra long staple towel with a woven border is substantial, and both are legitimate products for different purposes.
Standard lead time is three to four weeks for embroidered or printed stock, six to eight weeks for jacquard woven or fully custom production, which includes yarn dyeing and weaving. Hotel programmes should plan on the longer figure.
Seasonality affects this market. Demand climbs before the summer and before the winter tourist season here, and lead times extend accordingly. Ordering in the quiet months costs same and delivers faster.
What is the gsm? If it is not stated, ask. It is the single most useful number and its absence usually means it is low.
What cotton grade? Standard, combed, or extra long staple. The difference in feel and in laundry survival is real.
Is the print reactive or a transfer? Reactive penetrates fibre and lasts. Transfers sit on the surface and crack.
How are the edges finished? Double stitched hems with reinforced corners survive commercial laundering. Single stitched hems fray.
Is it velour faced or full terry? Velour prints better and absorbs less. Both are correct for different uses, but the quote should say which.
What is the shrinkage allowance? Cotton shrinks. A towel quoted at a finished size should state whether that is before or after first wash, and a reputable supplier build allowance in.
Expecting photographic print on cotton. It is not possible. Choose the substrate to suit design or simplify design to suit cotton.
Buying on gsm alone. A heavy towel in poor cotton feels worse than a lighter one in good cotton and survives laundering less well.
Specifying white for a beach club. White shows sunscreen, tanning oil and sand immediately, and none of those bleach out easily.
Ignoring shrinkage. A lounger sized towel that shrinks below lounger dimensions has failed at its only job.
Skipping pre production sample on a large order. Weight, hand feel and colour are all things a specification sheet describes poorly.
Using fabric softener in the laundry. This ruins more towels than wear does, and properties frequently do it without realising.
Ordering a thin towel as a corporate gift. It is the item where thinness is most immediately obvious, and a poor towel reflect on the giver.
Organic cotton is widely available in towelling and performs identically. Recycled cotton blends exist and are slightly less absorbent, which for this product is a meaningful compromise rather than a cosmetic one.
Water use in cotton production and in dyeing is the significant impact here. Reactive dyeing uses considerable water, and suppliers with closed loop water systems make a genuine difference. Undyed natural cotton avoids issue entirely and has a quiet appeal for propertie positioning on natural materials.
Durability is the strongest argument as usual. A good towel survive several hundred commercial launderings. A poor one is replaced two or three times in the same period, consuming several times material for the same service.
Turkish weave towels deserve a mention here because they use substantially less cotton than terry for a comparable useful area, dry faster which reduces energy in laundering, and last well. For a property willing to move away from plush terry, they are the lower impact choice by a clear margin.
Beach towels appear frequently in event and campaign work, and the specification logic differs again.
For an activation where the towel is the prize or the incentive, the item needs to look substantial in a photograph, because that is how it will be seen by everyone who was not there. Full colour printed microfibre photographs extremely well and costs less than plush cotton, which for this specific purpose is the correct trade.
For a campaign where the towel is a premium reward, the reverse applies. It will be handled, and thinness is immediately obvious.
Sponsorship and sports use has its own pattern. Team colours, large logos, high visibility from a distance. Bold reactive printing on cotton or full colour sublimation depending on the design complexity.
Quantity planning should account for bulk. Beach towels take up far more space than most promotional items, which affects storage, transport and the practicality of distribution at a venue. A pallet hold fewer than people expect, and we would rather raise that at quote stage than have a client discover it on delivery day.
Hotels, resort groups and retail chains all reorder continuously, and the value of a supplier in this category is largely in whether second order matches first.
We hold full specification indefinitely at no charge: yarn reference and count, gsm, finished dimensions with shrinkage allowance, weave structure, dye reference and lot history, hem and border construction, and the decoration file with its exact positioning. That record is what makes a matching replacement possible two years later.
Without it, a reorder is a new specification dressed up as a repeat, and the difference shows first time old and new stock sit side by side.
For groups we recommend an annual production run released against a schedule. It secures volume price, guarantees every property receives stock from the same batch, and removes risk of a mid year reorder landing on a different dye lot. We hold stock so the client does not carry warehousing.
Where a property is phasing in a new specification, we can sequence changeover so that no single location ends up running two different towels simultaneously, which is the situation guests notice most.
This is a category where the quality differences are entirely tactile and almost impossible to convey in a photograph, which is why it is so easy to buy badly.
We state gsm and the cotton grade in every quote rather than describing a product as premium. We build shrinkage allowance into the finished dimensions rather than quoting an unwashed size. We specify hem and border construction because that is where laundering damage starts. We record dye lots and sequence deliveries so nothing arrives mismatched. And we produce a physical sample on anything substantial, because handling a towel tell you what no specification sheet can.
We also give honest answers about what is not possible. Photographic printing on plush cotton is the recurring one, and clients occasionally receive that answer from us having been promised it elsewhere. It is a difficult conversation and it is better than delivering something that cracks or fades within a season.
We deliver to Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah and Umm Al Quwain. Towelling is bulky relative to its value, so consolidating a larger run into fewer deliveries produces a genuine saving rather than a marginal one, and it is worth factoring into how an order is scheduled.
Multi property groups have consignments split and labelled per site here, drawn from a single production batch, which is the only reliable way to guarantee every location receives stock that matches every other. A central drop that somebody then divides loses that control moment cartons are opened and mixed.
For properties phasing stock in gradually we hold balance and release against an agreed schedule, so linen arrives as it is needed rather than occupying store rooms months in advance. Cotton stored badly in humid conditions can develop musty odour that transfers, which is an avoidable and surprisingly common problem.
Retail deliveries arrive packed, carded and barcoded to whatever standard channel requires, so nothing needs handling between the loading bay and the shelf.
One closing thought for anyone specifying beach towels for the first time. Ask two competing suppliers for the gsm and the cotton grade in writing. The one who answers precisely and the one who answers vaguely are usually offering quite different products at prices that looked comparable, and that single question separates them faster than any amount of comparison of photographs or promises about quality.
Sample requests are welcome at any stage and we would encourage them early rather than late. Comparing two beach towels at different weights side by side in the hand answers specification question in seconds, and it is far more reliable than choosing from a range of figure on a page. We hold stock in the common weights and cotton grades for exactly this purpose.
Where a project spans several towel types, pool, gym, spa and retail, we would rather quote each properly than offer one compromise specification across all of them. The requirements genuinely conflict, and a property that buys a single towel for every location ends up with something that is right in one place and wrong in three.
Embroidered towels behave differently from printed ones and last considerably longer. Thread stitched into the pile survives industrial washing for years, while a printed mark on terry cloth sits on the loops rather than in them and fades with every cycle. The trade off is detail, since fine lines and small text disappear into the pile.
Initial bath towels are the format most often given as a wedding or housewarming gift, where a single monogram on the border does more than any amount of colour. Weight decides how the gift is received: anything under four hundred grams per square metre feels thin in the hand, while six hundred and above reads as hotel quality and dries considerably better.
Custom towels with logo prints for a gym, spa or hotel are a different order entirely, sized to a laundry cycle and specified for durability rather than luxury. A tone on tone embroidery survives bleaching where a contrasting thread will fade unevenly. Sizes and weights for custom beach towels are set out alongside the gifting range.
Embroidered hand towels sit in a washroom or a kitchen and are seen far more often than a bath sheet, which makes them the better carrier for a mark despite the smaller area. A border band embroidery keeps the working surface of the towel clear.
Printed hand towels suit short run promotional work and seasonal designs, where a full colour graphic matters more than a decade of washing. Personalized hand towels with individual names are usually a hospitality or gifting order rather than a bulk one, since each name is its own setup and the run size is measured in dozens rather than hundreds.
Designer beach towels in printed velour suit resorts and retail, where the print quality is the product.
Resort and pool orders normally include reusable tumbler, tote bags dubai and branded patio umbrella in the same delivery.
Printed hand towels and a bathrobe with initial are ordered together by hotels and spas, and embroidery on towelling needs a stabiliser or the pile swallows stitching.
Towel suppliers in Ajman and across the northern emirates supply same GSM ranges; weight is what decides absorbency and how the towel feels, and it is the number worth asking for.
A bathrobe with initials is ordered alongside towels by hotels, spas and for gifting, and embroidery on towelling needs a stabiliser or the pile swallows the stitching.
Matching a robe and towel set from one supplier keeps the weight and shade consistent, which is difficult to achieve when the two are sourced separately.
