Spacing matters more than size once the letters are cut. Type set for print has kerning built for a page, and at signage scale those same gaps look uneven, so the spacing is redrawn by hand before anything is cut.
Fixing depends on what is behind the paint. A concrete core takes a drilled pin directly, plasterboard needs an anchor sized for the letter weight, and a glass partition takes standoffs through a drilled hole that has to be specified before the glass is installed.
Cutting cost follows the outline length rather than the letter area, so a script face with tight curves costs considerably more to produce than a block face at the same height.
Unlit letters run ten to fourteen working days from approved artwork. Illuminated letters add a week for wiring and testing, and anything needing a site survey adds whatever the building access allows.
