Foam board printing dubai suppliers offer produces a rigid lightweight panel used for signage, presentation boards and cut out shapes. A paper faced foam core takes a mounted print cleanly and costs very little, which is why it dominates short term interior display.
The limitation is honesty about lifespan. Foam board dents under any point pressure, delaminates if it gets wet and yellows in direct sun, so it belongs indoors and for weeks rather than years. Where the same shape has to last, a foam PVC panel costs more and survives outdoors, and the two are frequently confused at quotation stage. Related displays sit on our foam board printing dubai range.
Foam board is one of the most adaptable rigid substrates available to businesses that need lightweight, affordable display materials without sacrificing visual quality. A polystyrene foam core sandwiched between smooth clay coated paper faces creates a panel that is rigid enough to stand on an easel or hang from a wall yet light enough for a single person to carry from a vehicle to an exhibition booth. At Branding Blitz we print directly onto foam board surfaces using UV cured flatbed technology that bonds ink to the clay face in a single pass, producing photo quality graphics with vibrant colour saturation and fine detail resolution. This direct printing method eliminates need for separate vinyl lamination, reducing production time and cost while delivering a cleaner, more integrated finish.
Whether project calls for a single welcome board at a hotel conference or five hundred identical point of sale standees for a retail chain rollout, foam board adapts to the scale and budget of every brief. Our production facility stocks foam board sheets in three core thicknesses and we cut panels to any custom dimension up to the maximum sheet size of 1200 mm by 2200 mm. For larger installations, we design multi panel layouts that join seamlessly on site, creating wall sized graphics that would be impractical to produce and transport as a single piece.
This combination of material versatility, print quality, and cost efficiency has made foam board default substrate for indoor display projects across every commercial sector in the UAE.
Our flatbed UV printers position foam board panel flat on a vacuum bed that hold sheet perfectly still during the printing pass. Piezoelectric print heads travel across the surface depositing microscopic droplets of UV curable ink that are instantly solidified by an ultraviolet lamp trailing immediately behind head carriage. This instant curing means ink does not have time to absorb into the paper face or spread laterally, preserving crisp edges on text as small as six point and fine lines as narrow as one millimetre. The result is a graphic that look sharp from close inspection distances, which is especially important for photo mounting work displayed in gallery settings or corporate reception areas where visitors walk directly past board.
UV ink bonds mechanically and chemically to the clay coated surface, creating a durable film that resist scratching from casual handling, fingerprints, and the light abrasion that occurs when boards are stacked face to face during transport. Unlike solvent based inks that can emit volatile compounds during and after printing, UV cured inks are virtually odourless once cured, making them safe for enclosed exhibition spaces, hospital waiting areas, and school environments where air quality is a concern. Our latex and UV hybrid workflow allows us to match Pantone spot colours with high accuracy, ensuring brand consistency across multiple boards produced in the same run or across separate reorders placed weeks apart.
For projects that require an additional layer of surface protection, we offer optional matte or gloss lamination applied after printing. The laminate film adds a thin polymer layer that protects ink from moisture, cleaning chemicals, and UV light degradation. Laminated foam boards are specified most often for hospitality menus, permanent directional signage, and any installation where the board will be touched frequently by staff or members of the public. The lamination step adds minimal weight and thickness while extending useful life of the graphic by several months beyond what unlaminated boards achieve in equivalent conditions.
An adhesive cardboard strut attached to the rear of the foam board allows it to stand independently on tables, countertops, reception desks, and floor surfaces. Easel backs are available in single wing and double wing configurations, with the double wing providing improved stability for boards taller than A3 size. This format is the standard choice for tabletop point of sale displays, wedding welcome signs, and conference table name cards.
Foam boards mounted on walls using adhesive foam spacers float slightly off surface, casting a subtle shadow that give graphic a three dimensional gallery appearance. This mounting technique is popular in corporate offices, hotel corridors, and real estate sales centres where multiple boards are arranged in a row to create visual impact. The spacers are available in various depths from 5 mm to 20 mm to suit desired shadow effect.
Metal grommets punched into the corners or top edge of the foam board allow it to hang from hooks, wires, or ceiling mounted tracks. This format suits overhead signage in retail environments, department way finders in large offices, and suspended displays at exhibition booths where floor and table space is limited. We reinforce grommet area with an additional adhesive patch to prevent foam from tearing under the weight of the board.
Our CNC router traces outline of a character, product, or mascot design, cutting away background to leave only shaped graphic on its own foam board silhouette. A rear strut or foot brace keeps cutout standing upright. Character standees are widely used in cinema lobbies, toy stores, fast food restaurants, and event photo opportunity areas. Sizes range from tabletop figures at 30 cm tall to life size cutouts exceeding 180 cm.
Foam board is stocked in the full paper size range.
A4 foam board and A3 foam board suit counter signage and small displays.
A2 foam board is the common size for internal notices and event directions.
A1 foam board, sometimes asked for as A1 size foam board, is the largest single sheet most clients need and the standard for exhibition panels and poster mounting.
Black foam board is used where the panel edge is visible and a white core would break the line, which matters for gallery hanging and premium retail display.
Foam board is a forgiving material in many respects, but careless handling can cause dents, creases, and corner damage that ruin visual quality of a printed graphic. When transporting foam boards to an event or retail location, we recommend stacking panels face to face with a sheet of tissue or kraft paper between each pair to prevent ink transfer or surface scratching. Boards should be carried vertically rather than flat to avoid bending forces that can snap foam core along stress lines, especially in 3 mm panels wider than A1 size. For vehicle transport, securing stack against a flat surface such as the side panel of a van prevent sliding that leads to edge damage during turns and braking.
Storage conditions matter significantly for extending service life of foam board displays. Boards should be kept in a cool, dry environment away from direct sunlight and sources of heat such as radiators or warehouse skylights. Exposure to temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius, which is easily reached in unconditioned warehouses during the UAE summer, can soften polystyrene core and cause permanent warping. If boards will be stored for more than a few week between uses, wrapping them in shrink film or placing them inside flat cardboard cartons protects surface from dust accumulation and accidental spills. Our production team provides custom cardboard packaging for multi board orders upon request, ensuring that every panel arrives at its destination in exhibition ready condition.
Forex board is the name most of the trade here uses for rigid expanded PVC sheet, and it is worth explaining because clients ask for it by that name and by half a dozen other.
A forex sheet is a closed cell PVC foam panel: light, rigid, smooth on both faces and completely unaffected by water. That last property is what separates it from paper faced foam board, which delaminates moment it gets damp. For anything going outdoors, into a bathroom, a kitchen or a washdown area, forex sheets are the correct material and paper faced board is not.
It cuts cleanly on a router or a blade, it takes direct UV printing and vinyl equally well, and it can be drilled and screwed without splitting. Common thicknesses run from 3mm for flat mounted graphics up to 10mm and above for freestanding letters and self supporting signage.
Thicker forex board holds its shape over a longer span, which matters for large panels mounted at only a few points. Thin sheet in a large format will bow visibly under its own weight in this heat, so thickness should be chosen against panel size rather than against budget.
It is worth knowing that PVC foam softens at high temperature. A panel mounted in direct sun on a south facing wall can distort over time, so for permanent exterior signage aluminium composite is usually better choice and forex is better suited to interior work, exhibitions and medium term outdoor use.
