PVC coated polyester is fully waterproof and wipes clean, which suits pool decks and anywhere spillage is constant. It is less breathable and can feel hot against skin in direct sun, which for a lounging product is a genuine drawback.
Standard polyester with a water repellent coating is the budget outdoor option. The coating wears off, the colour fades and the fabric degrades under sustained UV. It has a legitimate place for short term event use and it is the wrong choice for a permanent installation.
Cotton canvas and cotton blends feel good, take printing well and suit offices, schools and homes. They mark easily and are not easily cleaned, which matters in a high traffic area.
